Former Mormon Helen Radkey’s latest discovery in her ongoing research of Mormon Church records is that Daniel Pearl was baptized by proxy into the Mormon Church on June 1, 2011 in Idaho. That’s nine years after he was killed by Islamic terrorists in Pakistan.

Daniel Pearl’s widow Marianne, who was portrayed by Angelina Jolie in the film “A Mighty Heart,” told The Boston Globe that she agreed with Elie Wiesel who has called for Mitt Romney to speak out against the Mormon practice of baptizing the dead, especially the Jewish dead.

Marianne Pearl said the Mormon practice is upsetting to some families, but said her late husband would have laughed about it.
