K.I.N.D. Fund: Donate, tell a friend

The K.I.N.D. Fund could not have been a success without viewers like you.

The K.I.N.D. Fund could not have been a success without viewers like you. Our joint program between msnbc and UNICEF stands for Kids In Need Of Desks because we outfit classrooms in Malawi with desks for school children who would otherwise spend their day sitting on the floor.

With your generous support, we’ve raised more than $4.5 million and built more than 45,000 desks in the past two years.

Victims of Hurricane Sandy serve as reminder there are many deserving charitable causes for us all to consider. But to keep up our momentum, we ask that you tell someone about the K.I.N.D. fund this year. It’s a chain reaction: if one person contributes a few dollars, others follow suit. Soon, these kids will be sitting at a desk in a classroom and local carpenters who made the desks will have a steady income.

Due to skyrocketing gas prices and changes in the value of local currency in Malawi, costs have gone up to $65 per desk this year.

No donation is too small. You can contribute online or call 1-800-4-UNICEF.
