Newt and Callista Gingrich took a breather from the campaign trail to send a virtual Christmas card. In a new video, the couple tells us how sparkly lights during the holidays remind them of “the fire of freedom that burns bright in the America” they cherish.
Today, the candidate told Iowa’s WHO radio station, “How can you run negative ads three or four days before Christmas?”
Romney supporters aren’t slowing down during the holiday rush. Today a pro-Mitt Super PAC leveled a new attack against Gingrich that emphasizes his political baggage. But, Gingrich called Romney’s hesitation to step in “baloney.”
“All he has to do is simple, this afternoon when one of you gets to him, he can say I condemn any further negative ads and I ask that PAC to run only positive ads,” said Gingrich. “Anything short of that is baloney. We ought to understand it’s baloney, we out to understand these are his people, running his ads, doing his dirty work while he pretends to be above it.”
Romney told msnbc’s Morning Joe intervening with the SuperPAC could get him in serious trouble. He said, “Super PACs have to be entirely separate from a campaign and a candidate. I’m not allowed to communicate with a Super Pac in any way, shape, or form.”Tweet me your reaction or comment in the space below.
