In a new biography of Roger Ailes, the Republican operative and head of Fox News lobs insults at pols on all sides, calling Joe Biden “dumb,” Newt Gingrich a “prick,” and President Obama "lazy"—and that’s just a sampling.
Vanityfair.com published an excerpt of Roger Ailes: Off Camera by Zev Chafets in which Ailes holds forth on the various politicians whom he has met over the years.
When Republican 2012 presidential candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum approached the network to complain about its support for Mitt Romney, Ailes called Gingrich a “sore loser,” and a “prick,” according to the excerpt.
He also admitted a “soft spot” for Vice President Joe Biden, but then called him “dumb as an ashtray.”
Ailes complains that President Obama is “lazy, but the media won’t report that,” accusing him of spending too much time playing basketball and golf and attending fundraisers.
Chafets writes if Ailes were president, he claimed he “would sign no legislation, create no new regulations, and allow the country to return to its natural, best self, which he locates, with modest social amendments, somewhere in midwestern America circa 1955.”
He also believes God is probably not a liberal, because “He’s got a good heart.” Full excerpt here.
