Cue Wendy Davis? Texas Governor Rick Perry has decided not to seek a fourth term in office.  The conservative Republican announced his decision Monday, telling supporters “The time has come to pass on the mantle of leadership.”

A recent PPP Poll found about 60% of Texans wanted to the governor to step aside.

During the 2012 presidential campaign, Perry famously responded with an “oops” during a Republican debate after forgetting the names of all the federal departments he vowed to shut down.
