Quick reminder, the Rev. Al Sharpton fills in for Ed tonight. Ed will return Monday. Here are some of the stories that seem sadly Underbuzzed today. As always, please add your own in the comments.As we reported on Tuesday, Democratic senators pressed Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Gary Gensler to use the CFTC's emergency powers to crack down on oil speculators who have driven up gas prices. The House voted in an overwhelmingly bipartisan fashion to do just this in 2008. Now, not so much. Neither the House GOP nor Chairman Gensler support this move. Today, Sen. read more

Not for the first time, something about GOP strategy doesn't make sense to me. The House GOP wants to blame Pres. Obama for all the awful things that will happen to the economy and working Americans (not to mention the world) if/when the House GOP defaults on the good faith and credit of the United States.They admit to Politico: "It's dangerous," but they say it's dangerous for Obama.But as Jed Lewison points out over at Daily Kos, members of the House GOP are accusing Treasury Sec. Geithner of acting like "Chicken Little" over the dangers of defaulting. Here's what doesn't make sense. read more

Wisconsin state Sen. Dan Kapanke (R) is regretting the way he mistreated workers by supporting Gov. Walker's anti-labor bill, as he faces a recall.   Last week at a golf club, state Sen. Kapanke acknowledged the large amount of public sector workers in his district and suggested the only way he could stay in office is if the those workers don't show up on election day.   Unfortunately for Kapanke, it was all caught on tape.
