Today marks the two month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, and thousands of demonstrators have gathered in cities around the country in a national day of action. Several arrests have already been made as the protests continue. The 99% have called attention to the rising inequality between middle income Americans and the affluent.
In Wisconsin, the effort to recall Gov. Scott Walker has swung into full force. Volunteers have started collecting signatures; 540,208 will be needed within the next 60 days. The state political action commitee, United Wisconsin has already obtained 200,000 online pledges for the recall.
