The governor of Florida signed a bill into law yesterday that would require welfare applicants to pay for drug testing to prove they aren’t on drugs before they’ll be granted assistance. Howard Simon, the Executive Director of the Florida ACLU, says the law is a “scientifically, fiscally, and constitutionally unsound policy”.June 2, 2011
