The Secret Service is now set to meet with Ted Nugent tomorrow regarding his long and disturbing tirade about President Obama. The Romney campaign is saying that it never sought the endorsement of Nugent but after the rocker endorsed him in March, Romney told a radio show that “it’s been fun getting to know him, Ted Nugent…”

Back in March the Texas Tribune reported the details of how Ted Nugent endorsed Romney:

It was on a phone call with the candidate earlier today that Nugent gave his blessing. He talked to Romney by phone while he was at a sporting goods store in Michigan “celebrating the orgy of guns and ammos and bows and arrows and camouflage clothing and hunting and fishing and outdoor family supplies.”

Today, in a conference call with reporters the Romney campaign refused to answer questions relating to Ted Nugent’s remarks.

This morning Senator Jim Inhofe said that Nugent’s comments about the President are not concerning and that he was the one facing real threats:  “If you want to see how you can be abused, read my book ‘The Greatest Hoax’ and see what Bobby Kennedy – you know, he wanted to hang me for treason - and, so, if you want to see some real threats, you can see that,”
