Those in opposition to Occupy Wall Street are doing whatever they can to paint the protesters in a negative light– right down to criticizing their choice of clothing (or lack thereof). Well, Suits for Wall Street is looking to change that. The website is asking for donations– in the form of proper business attire. The group is asking people to send old or unused suits or money to purchase thrift store suits. On the site they argue that suits can be used as “tactical camouflage” adding that “we’ll look like people to listen to, or, at the very least, to hear out.”
The plan is:
“On October 15, a day of united global protest, our team of wardrobe artists and designers will deliver racks of proper business attire for both men and women, free of charge, to anyone at Liberty Plaza Park who is interested. We’ll be joined by progressive tailors, radical barbers, and other folks who want to help them look great.”
Ultimately, a lot of the suits will go to a good cause. The plan is for all extra suits and late deliveries to go to Threads for Success. Check it out.
