As Think Progress pointed out earlier today, Oklahoma City has seen 30 days this year with temperatures topping 100 degrees. The city normally has around 12 100 degree days every year. The number of heat related deaths in Oklahoma is now at 5 and with autopsies pending on 8 more cases that number could rise to 13. So… What does Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe’s Press Office do when their state is in the midst of a killer heat wave? They had the bright idea to send out a tweet bashing Al Gore over global warming:

Not so smart of Inhofe’s office to make fun of a situation that has potentially caused the deaths of 13 people in his state. But let’s face it, the Senator does not have a reputation for making smart decisions. This guy landed his plane on a closed runway with a big “X” on it that was filled with construction workers.
