The Ed Show was not seen tonight at its regular 8pET time on msnbc (although it will air at 11pET) so that we could bring you Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together, a NBC Universal benefit concert and telethon to aid victims of the storm.

The star-studded hour-long event, hosted by Matt Lauer, featured New Jersey natives Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel of Long Island and Staten Island-born Christina Aguilera.

Money raised from the telethon will benefit the American Red Cross.  You can still click here to help (you can also donate by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or texting "REDCROSS" to 90999 to make a $10 donation).

There's no doubt Hurricane Sandy has many people in need of assistance. They need water, food, and clothes among other things. Americans always find a way to lend a hand and work together. That spirit is what makes us who we are.

Then, watch a brand new edition of The Ed Show at 11pET.

And while we're at it, here's another programming note: special pre-election editions of The Ed Show will be seen this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, at 8pET live from Democracy Plaza at Rockefeller Center in New York City!

Whether it be Hurricane Sandy or Tuesday's election, America let's get to work!
