Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, facing a Democratic recall effort for his attempts to curb union rights, gave President Barack Obama a friendly tarmac welcome today in Milwaukee.

After Air Force One landed and Obama deplaned, the governor presented him with a Milwaukee Brewers’ jersey that bore the number 1 and Obama’s name.

Lots of smiles, no finger wagging.

Quite a contrast from President Obama’s welcome from Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.

Still, Walker did drop out of an Obama event at Master Lock.

Walker’s spokesman, Cullen Werwie, said the governor was recovering from the flu and had to cancel his plans to go to the event.
