‘Ed Show’ playbook: Tuesday, May 1

Updated

One year after the death of Osama bin laden, President Obama makes a surprise trip to Afghanistan and Republicans are squirming.

Ed will have full reaction and analysis of the president’s big speech (set for 7:30pET) with Eugene Robinson, msnbc Analyst and Associate Editor and Pulitzer Prize winning Columnist for the Washington Post, and Richard Wolffe, msnbc Political Analyst.

Then, Jon Soltz, Chairman of Vote Vets, comments on the politics of killing bin Laden.

President Obama’s poll numbers are rising and a new Obama ad hits Mitt Romney where it really hurts.  E.J. Dionne, a Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution and Washington Post columnist, will look at Obama’s attempt to define Romney now vs. later.

Romney claims he supports pay equity, but is silent on the paycheck fairness act.  Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) will join Ed to set the record straight about the Republicans’ latest attack on women.

Sen. Scott Brown’s hypocrisy on the health care law is simply stunning.  Ed shows us how his family benefits from the law he wants to repeal.

And five weeks to election day, Scott Walker swims in out-of-state cash and calls in reinforcements like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.  Tonight, Democratic hopeful Kathleen Falk gives us her plan to defeat Walker.

It’s going to be yet another packed @EdShow at 8pET on @msnbctv.
