From the start, Republicans have wanted to abandon automakers, but the commitment to resuscitate the industry is paying off.

Despite opposition, auto sales in the U.S. are up a whopping 25% overall since just last month, and American cars are leading the pack.

Edmund.com, the leading automotive information website, predicts that Ford will even pull ahead of GM, only the second time in over a decade.
