Top strategist for President Obama's reelection campaign, David Axelrod, joined Chuck today to talk about the race for 2012.

When asked if he thought voter enthusiasm for this race is lower than usual, Axelrod said he sees that organization and momentum has been building across the U.S. for the President's campaign, and says he believes this fall the campaign will have a very strong organizational effort.

Axelrod also took some time today to address the Washington Post's article that says high-dollar campaign donations are down this election as compared to Obama's last presidential campaign. Axelrod said he's always concerned about voters becoming complacent, but that he's proud that 98 percent of donations to the campaign are $250 or less and that the average dollar donation for the Obama campaign is 55 dollars.
