Will President Obama take the ice bucket challenge?

Updated

Matt Lauer has done it, Julian Edelman has done it, Matt Ryan has done it–and now Ethel Kennedy has poured a bucket of ice water over her head to help raise money and awareness for ALS.

Right before dousing the freezing the bucket of ice over her head, the 86-year-old Kennedy nominated President Obama to participate in the #IceBucketChallenge. “Welcome to Cape Cod, President Obama. I nominate you,” she said.

The #IceBucketChallenge has become a social media phenomenon. The idea is simple: you take a bucket of ice water dump it over your head, record it and post the video on your social media accounts, and nominate your friends to do the same. The simple and fun stunt is raising awareness and money for many diseases, one of which is  the Lou Gehrig disease, also known as ALS.
