Watch: Yankees recreate a scene from ‘The Sandlot’

“You’re killing me Smalls!”

With Opening Day approaching, some members of the New York Yankees decided to test out their acting skills and pay tribute to an all-time baseball film favorite “The Sandlot.”

Wearing pinstripes, Brett Garnder, who plays the role of “Smalls,” admits to the sandlot crew – Chase Headley, Didi Gregorius, Jacoby Ellsbury, Brain McCann, C.C. Sabathia, and Dellin Betances – that the ball he brought to the field was signed by legendary slugger Babe Ruth.

In the video, released Tuesday by MLB.com, the Yankees reenact this 22-year-old iconic scene with passion but it is safe to say their acting skills don’t come close to their ball playing abilities.
