With an all-time dissatisfaction rate of 83%, Americans are ready for something to be accomplished in Washington instead of the constant bickering. However, don't expect any solutions to the debt ceiling or student loan issues to happen within the next five weeks, as Washington prepares to clear out for summer break.
A recent topic on the hill is the GOP’s threat to shut down the government over Obamacare. “Once it goes into effect next year, when they can’t refuse people for pre-existing conditions, when these exchanges start to work, there’s no going back,” Newsweek-Daily Beast writer Dan Gross said on Friday’s show. “The way that the system operates now is the House Republicans have to have their tantrum over the debt ceiling, then you have to let them work out their energy and then you can sit down and make some sort of deal, and I think that’s what we’re going to see more of.”
