VP Biden’s Twitter account is revived

Welcome back to Twitter, @joebiden!

As Democrats begin revving up for the 2014 campaign trail, the Vice President is trying to help by using his Twitter account @joebiden to boost Democratic candidates in the midterm elections.

To give the account its first jolt of life since December 2012, Vice President Biden fired out a tweet Monday morning.

The @joebiden Twitter account is manned by the Democratic Party and has been used in the past before campaigns and election years. Since 2013, all of the Vice President’s communications have been from the official Vice President Twitter account @VP.

“Vice President Biden’s campaign Twitter account is re-launching on Monday,” a DNC spokesperson said over the weekend. “The account will be run by the DNC after being dormant for over a year. @JoeBiden will be another way for the Vice President to engage our supporters, spread the Democratic message and support our candidates heading into the midterm elections.”
