Whether it be you know someone who lost their job or someone who just graduated and can’t find a job, almost everyone in America knows someone who is affected by the job crisis. With the unemployment rate unchanged at 8.2% meaning over 12.7 million people are unemployed we are facing the weakest three month period for job growth in over 2 years.
During today’s guest spot we are speaking to Mark Levin, the Director of the HBO Documentary “Hard Times: Lost on Long Island.” In this documentary he chronicles the casualties of the Great Recession in the birthplace of the American Suburban Dream- Long Island, NY.
He follows four families from the summer of 2010 through the end of the year to show what the job crisis looks like at the community and family level from an inside perspective.
