Today on The Cycle: What is happening in Washington

Last week President Obama was in the Middle East meeting with U.S.

Last week President Obama was in the Middle East meeting with U.S. allies and marking his first trip to Israel since he assumed office.  During his trip he said to a group of Israelis, ““Peace is possible. I’m not saying it’s guaranteed. I can’t even say that it is more likely than not. But it is possible.”

But now, he is back in Washington, all by himself. For the next two weeks he will be without a Congress. Lawmakers are on their usual “spring break,” most returning to their congressional districts.  However, this year there break happens when a lot hangs in the balance. From the lack of movement on gun control, to immigration, to the national debt, a lot has been left up in the air in Washington and President Obama is plugging along with his agenda before time.

So where exactly do we stand on all these issues? And can President Obama make the most of his time in Washington while Congress is away? Joining today’s show to help us answer these questions and more is Politico’s Marty Kady. See you at 3.
