Warning sirens are sounding throughout Southern Israel in day six of what is being called “Operation Pillar of Defense". Since Wednesday more than 800 rounds have been fired at Israel from Gaza and many of these rounds have been intercepted by Israel’s “iron dome” defense system.

Currently, more than a 100 Palestines have been killed as Israeli air attacks have struck targets throughout the past six days.

So what are the key players doing? Egypt has sent a top leader of the brotherhood to Gaza to stand with Hamas, Turkey has good diplomatic ties with both sides and is trying to broker peace, and then there is the U.S.

With President Obama currently in Southeast Asia he is monitoring the situation closely and cautioning Israel against a full-scale ground invasion.

Be sure to tune in at 3 p.m. as we have the situation covered with NBC’s Stephanie Gosk in Tel Aviv and Former U.S. Ambassador Marc Ginsberg in D.C  to give us up-to-date middle east information.
