The families of the 12 Aurora victims are starting to plan one of the hardest events a family can plan, their final farewells. The first funerals are expected to be this weekend
21 of the 58 people who were shot are still hospitalized, with 10 in critical condition. On a positive note over the past 24 hours, 4 survivors have been released from local hospitals.
To talk more about the hospitals’ quick reaction we spoke to Dr. Chris Colwell, Director of Emergency Medicine at Denver Health Hospital.
His hospital originally received 7 victims from the shooting and 4 are still being treated.
Dr. Colwell credits a big factor to their speedy response due to their preparation after Columbine, 13 years ago where he helped treat survivors and went inside the school to pronounced time of death for the killers and their 13 victims.
