President Obama is back in the States after a quick trip to Europe.
On Monday, the First Family arrived in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for the G-8 Summit, where Syria and international free trade conditions topped the discussion list. Obama still fielded questions on controversial surveillance programs.
President Obama has taken an approval ratings hit from the discovery of these programs, dropping eight points to 45%, according to a CNN/ORC poll. The president attempted to rebuild public trust, reiterating on Wednesday that “this is not a situation in which we are rifling through, you know, the ordinary emails of German citizens or American citizens or French or anyone else.”
