St. Patrick’s Day is here and with that comes bagpipes playing, beer flowing, and a sea of green taking over cities nationwide.

What was originally a religious feast day for the patron of Ireland, March 17 is now an international festival celebrating the Irish culture with dancing, parades, and special foods.

While this year’s St. Patrick’s Day brought a wintry mix and political and beer boycotts, it didn’t stop hundreds of people decked out in green from lining the streets to celebrate the ‘Luck of the Irish.’
