NASA’s view of Sochi

By The Cycle Staff

NASA’s showing their Olympic spirit.

Crew members aboard the International Space Station have been sharing their flyover photos of the Olympic park in Sochi through social media. The astronauts living aboard the International Space State are from the U.S., Russia and Japan and they all hope to watch some of the Olympic events when they have time-off.

In November, the Olympic torch visited the International Space Station when cosmonauts brought it aboard, took it for a spacewalk, and returned it to earth a few days later.

“Both the Olympics and the International Space Station are great examples of what folks can do when they get together — when all these different countries get together — and try to accomplish something,” NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio told Space.com.
