Around the nation Americans are commemorating Veterans Day to honor those who fought to keep the United States safe.

In Washington, President Obama laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery in an event complete with the traditional 21-gun salute. The president then pledged unprecedented support for our veterans.

“As a nation, we make sure we have the best led the best trained the best equipped military in the world,” President Obama said Monday. “We have to make sure we put that much energy and passion into the best cared for the best treated the best respected veterans in the world.”
