Jason Van Dyke, the Chicago police officer who fatally shot teenager Laquan McDonald, has been convicted of second-degree murder and 16 counts of aggravated battery – one for each shot he fired at McDonald. Van Dyke could spend up to 20 years behind bars and his conviction marks the first murder conviction of a Chicago police officer in more than 40 years.Oct. 5, 2018
