Wednesday's Mini-Report, 12.21.16

Today's edition of quick hits.
Today's edition of quick hits:* Berlin: "Detectives launched a Europe-wide manhunt Wednesday for a Tunisian suspected in the deadly terrorist truck attack on a Christmas market in Berlin. German police have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Anis Amri. He was being sought in Germany and across Europe's border-free travel zone."* I suppose the finger-pointing was inevitable: "American officials are pushing back against suggestions the U.S. is connected to a political movement the Turkish president blames for the assassination of Russia's ambassador to Turkey."* Mississippi: "An arrest has been made in the Greenville church burning. Andrew McClinton, 45, of Leland, was arrested Wednesday for setting Hopewell Baptist Church on fire and scrawling 'Vote Trump' on the side in spray paint, according to Warren Strain with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. McClinton has been charged with one count of first degree arson of a place of worship, Strain said."* I've lost count of how many billionaires are now on Team Trump: "Donald Trump has named billionaire investor Carl Icahn, a frequent critic of regulation and major fossil fuel investor, a special advisor on regulation, the president-elect's transition team announced Wednesday."* No good can come of this: "Donald Trump's presidential transition team has asked State Department officials to disclose how much money it provides each year to international environmental groups. It's the latest example of how the incoming administration is reassessing the U.S. government's approach to tackling climate change and other environmental priorities."* Click the link to see the striking images out of China: "It is common in China to hold exams outdoors, to deter cheating. But in this case, the students were bathed in cold, filthy air so dense that those at the back of the soccer field seemed like ghostly imprints in the air."* Even Santorum won't defend some of Trump's more alarming habits: "Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) urged President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday to take daily intelligence briefings, a practice he's so far mostly avoided. 'I would recommend that Donald Trump take his security briefs. I don't know why he's not. I didn't talk to him about it,' Santorum told CNN's John Berman."Anything to add? Consider this an open thread.
