Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.

* Super Tuesday contests weren't limited to presidential primaries and caucuses; some congressional incumbents were facing challengers as well. As things stand, it appears each of the incumbents prevailed, including Sen. Richard Shelby (R) in Alabama.

* Remember the federal judge in Illinois who agreed to hear the case testing Ted Cruz's eligibility? She threw out the lawsuit yesterday.

* Lindsey Graham, who's made no secret of distaste for Ted Cruz, conceded during a CBS interview last night that Republicans "may be in a position where we have to rally around Ted Cruz as the only way to stop Donald Trump."

* Tim Miller, the Jeb Bush campaign's former chief spokesperson, has joined the Our Principles PAC, which exists to tear down Trump.

* The Koch-backed Concerned Veterans for America has launched its first campaign ad of 2016, and it's a $700,000 buy in support of Rep. Joe Heck (R), who's running for the Senate in Nevada.

* In Florida's U.S. Senate race, the latest Public Policy Polling survey shows Patrick Murphy (D) leading each of his likely Republican opponents by margins ranging from four to nine points.

* In an ugly display, Sen. Mark Kirk (R) is airing a new attack ad in Illinois, blasting Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D) over her support for Syrian refugees.

* In New Jersey, Gov. Chris Christie's (R) approval rating among his constituents is down to a ridiculous 27% -- a six-point drop since before his Trump endorsement. Among New Jersey independents, Christie's support is just 18%.

* And in case anyone was wondering, former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore (R) announced yesterday that he won't endorse any of his former 2016 rivals, but he will support the eventual nominee, even if it's Trump.
