* The Republican National Committee announced the location of its 2016 convention just a few minutes ago: Cleveland.

* In Kentucky, Senate hopeful Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) has launched her first critical ad of the cycle, hitting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) for voting against Medicare when he backed Paul Ryan's House Republican budget.

* In Arkansas, Sen. Mark Pryor (D) is airing a new ad, responding to Rep. Tom Cotton's (R) criticism of the senator's faith.

* On a related note, Pryor is also hitting Cotton for his opposition to federal disaster aid.

* In Tennessee, Sen. Lamar Alexander is pushing back against his Republican primary rival by airing a television ad showing the senator arguing with President Obama about health care.

* And in New Hampshire, Gov. Maggie Hassan (D) appears to be well on her way towards winning a second term -- a WMUR/Granite State Poll shows her leading her Republican challenger, 55% to 29%.
