Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* In case there were any doubts about the practical end of the GOP's presidential nominating race, the Republican National Committee will begin this week raising money jointly with Mitt Romney.

* According to the AP's delegate count, Romney is still only about halfway to clinching the 1,144 delegates needed to win the nomination.

* Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) hasn't officially ended his unsuccessful presidential bid yet, and yesterday, he said he hasn't decided whether or not to support his party's eventual nominee.

* Ann Romney was asked yesterday about the impression that her husband "comes off stiff." In an unfortunate choice of words, she responded, "Well, you know, I guess we better unzip him and let the real Mitt Romney out because he is not!"

* Despite the apparent trajectory of the race, Rick Santorum's campaign is still scheduling events in Arkansas in May.

* Santorum still believes a win in Pennsylvania's primary can keep his campaign alive, and a new Quinnipiac poll in the state shows the former senator leading Romney by six points, 41% to 35%.

* In Indiana, where Sen. Richard Lugar (R) has struggled with residency questions, the Republican will re-register to vote using the address of a family farm.

* And in North Dakota, U.S. Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp has a new campaign ad on the air, which very carefully omits any reference to the fact she's a Democrat in this reliably "red" state.
