Thursday's Campaign Round-Up, 4.10.14

Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* In Iowa's U.S. Senate, the latest Suffolk poll shows Rep. Bruce Braley (D) leading each of his potential Republican rivals by margins ranging from 6 to 13 points. The poll was conducted after Braley's "farmer" gaffe last month.

* Roger Villere, the chair of the Louisiana Republican Party has called for Rep. Vance McAllister's (R-La.) resignation in light of revelations about his extra-marital relationship.  As best as I can tell, Villere did not call for Sen. David Vitter's (R-La.) resignation after the senator was caught hiring prostitutes.

* In Maine, PPP's latest poll shows Rep. Mike Michaud (D) leading incumbent Gov. Paul LePage (R) in a three-way match-up by seven points, 44% to 37%.

* As hard as this may be to believe, PPP also shows Gov. Sam Brownback (R) trialing Paul Davis (D) in Kansas' gubernatorial race by four points.

* And speaking of polling surprises, PPP also found Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal (R) trailing state Sen. Jason Carter (D) by one point in their gubernatorial race.

* In Florida, a Sunshine State News poll shows incumbent Gov. Rick Scott leading former Gov. Charlie Crist (D) by one point, though PPP shows Crist leading Scott by seven points.

* And former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R), reportedly interested in another presidential campaign, told supporters in Iowa this week that while men like to hunt with other men, "women like to go to the restroom with other women."
