Thursday's Campaign Round-Up, 3.27.14

Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* In Wisconsin, the latest Marquette Law School Poll shows Gov. Scott Walker (R) leading Mary Burke (D), but not by an insurmountable margin: 48% to 41%.

* Rep. Gary Peters (D) has already come under fire in his Michigan Senate race, facing attack ads aired by the Koch-financed Americans for Prosperity, so he's hitting the airwaves himself, launching bio ads that will debut during the NCAA basketball tournament. Both Michigan and Michigan State made the men's Sweet 16.

* In Virginia, a new Quinnipiac poll shows Sen. Mark Warner (D) holding onto a sizable advantage over Republican Ed Gillespie, 46% to 31%.

* Massachusetts gubernatorial hopeful Steve Grossman was "actually in physical pain" during a candidates debate this week -- he was reportedly "in the throes of passing a kidney stone" during the event.

* In California, incumbent Gov. Jerry Brown (D) looks like a safe bet for re-election, with a new Public Policy Institute of California poll showing him with a 37-point advantage over his closest Republican challenger, Tim Donnelly.

* And in Texas, Wendy Davis' (D) gubernatorial campaign is trying a candid approach in its new fundraising pitch. The subject line in Davis' latest appeal reads, "An email to raise money for the campaign."
