Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.

* The Communications Workers of America, one of the nation's largest unions, formally endorsed Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign this morning.

* In Iowa, the latest PPP survey shows Donald Trump narrowly leading Ted Cruz, 28% to 25%, among Republican voters. Marco Rubio is third with 14%, followed by Ben Carson at 10%.

* Speaking of the Hawkeye State, Quinnipiac now has Hillary Clinton leading Sanders by 11 points among Iowa Democrats, 51% to 40%.

* Clinton's advantage is even larger at the national level, where the latest Monmouth poll shows the former Secretary of State leading Sanders, 56% to 26%, which is roughly in line with the pollster's findings in October.

* Ben Carson yesterday told a group of Nevada Republicans it's "very likely" he would only serve one term if elected, because he'd do so many necessary-but-unpopular things that he couldn't win a second term.

* On a related note, Carson is also going after the Council on American-Islamic Relations without cause, and he's back to talking about European "no-go zones" that don't actually exist.

* Hillary Clinton was in Nebraska yesterday, where she picked up an endorsement from Warren Buffett, one of the world's wealthiest people, who does not usually make appearances at campaign rallies.

* As Rachel mentioned on the show this week, Alice Stewart, the lead spokesperson for Mike Huckabee's presidential campaign, has left Team Huckabee without explanation.

* And in Ohio, the filing deadline for the presidential primaries was yesterday. It will, not surprisingly, be a long Republican ballot, but George Pataki and Jim Gilmore did not file and will not be among the competitors.
