Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.* With five days remaining, Hillary Clinton's new ad urges Americans to seriously consider what America would look like under a Trump presidency.* Some Donald Trump supporters have put together fake advertisements telling Hillary Clinton backers they can vote this year by text. For the record: no, you cannot vote by text.* The AP reported late this morning, "A federal judge has denied the Pennsylvania Republican Party's effort to allow poll watchers from anywhere in the state monitor precincts on Election Day. The state party filed for a temporary restraining order Oct. 21, claiming that the current Pennsylvania law regarding poll watchers is unconstitutional. Eastern District of Pennsylvania Judge Gerald J. Pappert denied the motion Thursday."* In Wisconsin's U.S. Senate, a Marquette Law School poll shows Russ Feingold's (D) lead effectively evaporating against incumbent Ron Johnson (R), and the race now stands at 45% to 44%. The RNC has suddenly taken an interest in the race as well. If Wisconsin voters re-elect the far-right incumbent, Democratic chances of retaking the Senate will all but disappear.* In New Hampshire's U.S. Senate race, the new WBUR-FM poll shows Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte with a six-point lead and Republican gubernatorial hopeful Chris Sununu with a five-point lead.* In Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate race, Monmouth University shows Katie McGinty (D) ahead by three over incumbent Sen. Pat Toomey (R), while a CNN poll shows her up by five.* On a related note, Toomey continues to struggle, even now, with questions about whom he intends to vote for in the presidential election.* In Florida's U.S. Senate race, the new CNN poll shows Sen. Marco Rubio (R) with only a one-point lead over Rep. Patrick Murphy (D), 49% to 48%.* In Nevada's U.S. Senate race, the CNN poll found Rep. Joe Heck (R) up by two over Catherine Cortez Masto (D). 49% to 47%.* In Missouri's U.S. Senate race, Monmouth University's latest poll shows incumbent Sen. Roy Blunt (R) clinging to a one-point lead over Jason Kander (D), 47% to 46%.* And the white nationalist responsible for a pro-Trump robocall in Utah, which attacked Evan McMullin as a "closet homosexual," apologized yesterday for his tactic.
