Which Mitt -- the Governor Romney who sold his own rise as a hope for softening the GOP's position against abortion rights? The one who promised to be moderate on gay rights? Or the one who's campaigning as a social conservative now? Steve Benen writes that Republicans may think Mitt Romney put one over on the liberals back then, but there's a price for that:

[H]ow do they know — how does anyone know — which side Romney is lying to? Was he lying to his Massachusetts constituents about helping move the Republican Party to the left, or is he lying to the GOP base now about helping moving the country to the right?
