Monday's Campaign Round-Up, 10.6.14

Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* In a bit of a surprise, the new Bluegrass Poll in Kentucky shows Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) leading Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R), 46% to 44%. The most recent Bluegrass Poll, released about a month ago, showed McConnell up by four points.

* In Iowa's U.S. Senate race, the new NBC News/Marist poll shows Joni Ernst (R) with a two-point lead over Bruce Braley (D), 46% to 44%.

* In Kansas' two-way U.S. Senate race, NBC News/Marist has Greg Orman (I) up by 10 points over incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts (R), 48% to 38%.

* In North Carolina's U.S. Senate race, NBC News/Marist shows incumbent Sen. Kay Hagan (D) with a four-point lead over Thom Tillis (R), 44% to 40%.

* Monica Wehby's (R) Senate campaign in Oregon was already hit with one plagiarism controversy, and late Friday, she ran into another.

* Terri Lynn Land, the Republicans' struggling U.S. Senate candidate in Michigan, made a rare public appearance late last week, participating in a call-in show on Michigan Public Radio. A Detroit Free Press columnist called her appearance "a maddening exercise in evasion, obfuscation and incomprehensibility."

* Bill Kristol believes Sen. Cory Booker's (D) re-election in New Jersey may be in deep trouble, which is funny because, well, Bill Kristol's track record on electoral predictions -- or really, predictions in any area at all -- are notoriously bad.

* And Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is apparently eyeing a 2016 presidential campaign. Asked about Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), an ostensible ally, Graham said the Floridian is "not quite ready" for the presidency.
