How to help in Syria

While the crisis in Syria plays out on the international stage, you don’t have to be a world power to get involved there. Several aid groups are working to help the victims and refugees of Syria’s civil war. If this interests you, the list below includes just a few of the organizations working in the region.
- UN Refugee Agency
- World Food Program
- Save the Children
- Hand in Hand for Syria (which also offers the option of funding a project)
- Doctors Without Borders
- International Rescue Committee – providing aid in Syria and in refugee camps, also offering counseling, safety and support for women and girls at risk
- Shelterbox – provides ready made shelters and vital equipment for refugees
- War Child UK – providing child friendly spaces and temporary schools for Syrian refugees in Lebanon. The UNHCR estimates that more than half of of those displaced from Syria are children, with three quarters of those more than one million children under the age of eleven.
