Gingrich: To know him is to endorse the other guy

Tuesday night's segment on Newt Gingrich's troubled history with ethics and unpopularity (with both his colleagues in Congress and Americans in general) had me thinking about this chart by Seth at the Enik Rising blog. He took the endorsement numbers compiled by Nate Silver and made a pretty clear picture that the Republican politicians who have endorsed anyone so far (through November) have overwhelmingly endorsed Mitt Romney.

I remember a lesson from creative writing class that the reader learns about a character by what the character says and does, but also how the other characters react to him. Whether or not the voting public has more to discover about Mr. Gingrich, it certainly seems like the people who know him in a political context don't think it's a very good idea for him to be president.
