Friday's Campaign Round-Up, 6.13.14

Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* Former Sen. Scott Brown (R) mocked his rival yesterday, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), for not appearing alongside President Obama while he was "in town." But the president was in Worcester, Mass., and Brown is supposed to remember that he's running in New Hampshire.

* In Texas, the latest Texas Tribune/University of Texas poll shows state A.G. Greg Abbott (R) with a comfortable lead over state Sen. Wendy Davis (D), 44% to 32%.

* In Michigan, the latest statewide poll finds Rep. Gary Peters (D) narrowly leading Terri Lynn Land (R) in their U.S. Senate race, 45% to 42%.

* On a related note, the same poll shows incumbent Gov. Rick Snyder (R) with a modest lead over Mark Schauer (D) in their gubernatorial race, 46% to 41%.

* In Oregon, a new KATU/SurveyUSA poll shows Sen. Jeff Merkley (D) with an 18-point advantage over Republican challenger Monica Wehby, 50% to 32%. Merkley's lead among women voters is even larger.

* In Iowa, U.S. Senate hopeful Joni Ernst (R) told reporters this week that she's "appalled" by some of the obnoxious things her husband said about women online. Among other things, Ernst's husband called former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano a "traitorous skank" on Facebook.

* Koch Industries launched its first national TV ad campaign this week, apparently hoping to improve its image as Charles and David Koch become more controversial political figures.

* And in New York, a multi-count criminal indictment has hurt Rep. Michael Grimm's (R-N.Y.) fundraising. Imagine that.
