Friday's Campaign Round-Up, 3.18.16

Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.

* It was very close, but Hillary Clinton narrowly won the Missouri primary over Bernie Sanders. The senator conceded the contest yesterday afternoon.

* Priorities USA Action, a super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton, intended to stay on the sidelines until the general election. That recently changed when it intervened to help Clinton through a rough patch, but this week, Priorities USA Action said it will return to the sidelines until after the primary season is complete.

* The next big nominating contest on the calendar is the Arizona primary, scheduled for Tuesday. Ted Cruz launched a new anti-immigration ad he hopes will help him compete in the state, though Donald Trump is favored to win the primary.

* Marco Rubio made a rare appearance on Capitol Hill yesterday, and told reporters he won't be anyone's 2016 running mate and isn't running for governor in 2018.

* House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said he didn't realize being Speaker of the House also means chairing the party's presidential nominating convention. If this year's RNC is a contested (and contentious) mess, it's a job Ryan will not enjoy.

* In the state of New York, which will host a big primary a month from tomorrow, an Emerson College poll shows Trump with a big lead over Cruz among Empire State Republicans, 64% to 12%.

* Among New York Democrats, the same poll found Clinton leading Sanders by a wide margin, 71% to 23%.

* And in Pennsylvania, John Kasich will be on the Republican presidential primary ballot after all. Rubio allies alleged that Kasich failed to file the necessary ballot signatures to qualify, but with the senator quitting the race, the challenge to the Ohio governor's eligibility has been withdrawn.
