On Friday Rachel pointed out that a huge increase in oil production from from the Bakken Formation has led to a corresponding increase in the shipping of particularly flammable crude oil by rail car across the country, sometimes through populated areas. The rap on the oil industry is that they aren’t taking sufficient saftety steps quickly enough.
