On Monday, Rachel explained that the House Republican governing style of lurching from one self-imposed crisis to the next has become such a pattern that it has become difficult to keep track of the various emergencies, past, present, and future. In the service of such tracking, the show has instituted a naming system for Congressional storms in this Republican-led season, modeled on the Weather Channel’s naming of weather storms, which itself is based on the National Weather Service’s convention.

Notwithstanding the stopgap measure Steve reported on earlier, this is the season so far, along with projected storms Francis and Gertrude.
