President Obama is prepared to honor his promise to a top college athlete for a dance battle -- but don't expect to see it on camera.

"Stefanie, I did not forget that you challenged me to a dance-off last year," Obama told University of Connecticut star basketball player Stefanie Dolson Monday as she visited the White House with the rest of the NCAA championship team.

Dolson visited the White House last summer alongside her fellow Huskies to celebrate the prior year's championship, and she used her face-time with the president to challenge him to a dance-off.

"It is going to happen. It is going to happen," Obama said to applause at this week's reception. "Don’t think that I -- don’t think that you’re going to beat me on that."

"I also appreciate that you told the world about it after the title game," he added. "I have daughters in junior high and high school, and for their sake, I will not be dancing too much while the cameras are around."

The president has been willing to cut a rug in the past, showing off dance moves on Ellen DeGeneres' show back in 2008 in a clip that has been played more than 13 million times, but he has also been quick to point out that his wife is the better dancer.

"She's a better dancer than I am," he said during an interview on "LIVE! with Kelly and Michael" just last month when asked who would perform better on Dancing with the Stars. "I am a good dancer for a 52 year old man, but she is a fine dancer."

First lady Michelle Obama has become known for her top-notch dance moves, showing them off at "Let's Move" events and numerous TV appearances, including "Mom dancing" alongside late night's Jimmy Fallon, and hosting a dance party to celebrate her 50th birthday.
