Photos: Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders battle in MSNBC debate
On Thursday, February 4, Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders met in Durham, New Hampshire, for their first head-to-head debate since Martin O’Malley dropped out of the race.
Locked in a tight race for the party nomination, the candidates squared off at the University of New Hampshire with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and NBC News’ Chuck Todd moderating the evening.
The debate was the final Democratic faceoff before the New Hampshire primary on February 9. Clinton edged out a narrow apparent win over Sanders in the Iowa caucuses, the nation’s first contest of the 2016 election, but polls show the former secretary of state well behind the Vermont senator in the Granite State.
