U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service
What does it take for a person from a foreign land to become a true blue American? In addition to being a person of good moral character, they must be 18 years-old, have a solid grasp of the English language, and pass a test administered by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. About 1.3 million immigrants take this test every year. They know their American history. How well do you know yours?

Print out these sample questions from the INS test (chosen from a pool of 100), write down your best guess, then check your answers. You need to answer at least 18 of these 30 questions correctly to pass.
