John Kerry is currently on his first overseas trip as Secretary of State, a 9-nation, 11-day trip to Europe and the Middle East--a destination that Kerry insisted on over the objections of some in the White House, according to a Politico report.

In the article, entitled "John Kerry: the un-Hillary," Glenn Thrush writes that compared with his predecessor Hillary Clinton's focus on Asia in the first term, Kerry "seems more interested in the here and now, hoping to intercede directly on contemporary crises in Syria and Iran."
