Peggy Noonan has a column out today on why a majority of citizens believe America is on the wrong track -- 59% of people, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Noonan writes the gloomy outlook is not so much a result of the economy. Instead, she points to the latest scandals with the Secret Service and the General Services Administration, and photos of soldiers in Afghanistan posing alongside body parts surfacing, and argues it has more to do with a decline in our culture -- and even worse, "the American character."
